PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to effectively prevent reduction in image quality due to supply scumming even when a manufacturing date of toner in a current toner container is old.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a charging apparatus, a developing apparatus, a charging bias application apparatus, a developing bias application apparatus, a toner container, and a control section. When a first manufacturing data indicating a manufacturing date of toner in a current toner container is older than a second manufacturing data indicating a manufacturing date of toner in the previous toner container, the control section corrects at least one of a duty ratio of an AC voltage of a developing bias immediately after the replacement of toner container, Vpp, frequency, and potential difference &Dgr;V between the image carrier and a developer carrier, from a reference value to a predetermined value so that the toner may not be likely to move from the developer carrier to the image carrier as compared with the reference value, and restores the reference value gradually from the predetermined value within a predetermine period. |
