According to the present invention, a receiving system for receiving and processing mobile service data and a method for processing a broadcast signal are disclosed. The receiving system comprises a signal receiving unit, an equalizer, a turbo decoder, a demultiplexer, a first error correction unit, a block deinterleaver, and a second error correction unit. The signal receiving unit receives and demodulates a broadcast signal comprising a data group, which includes mobile service data, a plurality of known data sequences, and signaling data. The equalizer channel-equalizes the data group by using at least one of the plurality of known data sequences. The turbo decoder turbo-decodes the signaling data of the channel-equalized data group. The demultiplexer distinguishes transmission parameter channel (TPC) data and fast information channel (FIC) data from the turbo-decoded signaling data. The first error correction unit corrects an error generated in the distinguished TPC data. The block deinterleaver block-deinterleaves the distinguished FIC data. The second error correction unit corrects an error generated in the block-deinterleaved FIC data. |
