PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal fitting for a connector capable of maintaining a desired contact force.SOLUTION: A terminal fitting W includes a hollow cylindrical box part 10 into which an opposite-side male terminal T is inserted and which includes a bottom wall 11, an upper wall 13 and both sidewalls 12. Within the box part 10, an elastic contact piece 14 is provided which is brought into contact with the male terminal T in the case where the male terminal T is inserted. The elastic contact piece 14 extends while being bent in an U shape from a front end of the bottom wall 11 to a rear end side and is reverse-V-shaped by bending a substantially intermediate part in a length direction in a projected shape toward the upper wall. A free end is supported on a top face of the bottom wall 11 in a freely slidable manner. In the case where the male terminal T is inserted, the male terminal T is energized to a side of the upper wall 13 and the male terminal T is held between the elastic contact piece 14 and the upper wall 13. In the elastic contact piece 14, an apex part of the reverse V shape and a central area 15 in the vicinity of the apex part are formed with dimensions larger than the dimensions of any other part than the central area 15 in the elastic contact piece 14 in a width direction. |
