An automotive milling machine, comprising: a machine frame with a longitudinal axis; a plurality of ground engaging units configured to support the machine frame from a ground surface, at least one of the ground engaging units being steerable in a steering angle; working drum connected to the machine frame; a transport conveyor slewable sideways in a slewing angle relative to the machine frame about an essentially vertical first axis; and a controller including a detection and control system configured to detect at least one parameter and control the slewing angle of the transport conveyor in accordance with the at least one parameter, the at least one parameter including the steering angle; and wherein the detection and control system is configured to automatically control the slewing angle of the transport conveyor such that when the machine is steered in a curved path during forward or reverse travel an end of the transport conveyor is guided along a path within a track previously traveled over or to be traveled over by the milling machine.
