PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inexpensive aqueous slurry of Ca(OH)having very minute particles, high slurry concentration, low viscosity, weak pseudoplasticity, and a small amount of a dispersant.SOLUTION: In a circulation type reactor equipped with a crusher and a preliminary mixer, quicklime and a dispersant are loaded continuously or intermittently for 30 minutes or more into the preliminary mixer containing water and the slurry temperature in the crusher is kept at 60°C or lower to produce aqueous slurry of Ca(OH). The aqueous slurry of Ca(OH)has an average particle diameter of 0.05 to 1.0 μm, the concentration of Ca(OH)of 30 to 55 wt.%, the concentration of a solid dispersant of 1.0 to 2.3 wt.% relative to 100% of Ca(OH), and a ratio &eegr;1/&eegr;2 of 3 or less, wherein &eegr;1 indicates apparent viscosity at the apparent shear rate of 1.072 s; and &eegr;2 indicates apparent viscosity at the apparent shear rate of 5.36 s. |
