PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fit a lock member to an upper rail easily and at a low cost, in a vehicle seat slide device in which a lock member is incorporated in the upper rail where the upper and lower ends of a through-hole part for the entry of a lock part are closed.SOLUTION: With an energizing force applied to the lock part of an elastically-deformable lock member in the direction in which it enters between the pair of side wall parts of the upper rail while the lock member is elastically deformed and supported in the vertical direction of the upper rail, the lock member is elastically deformed by being pressed by the widthwise movement part of the upper rail, which moves in the width direction, in a direction in which the width decreases. By means of energizing force acting vertically, the lock part is caused to enter between the pair of side wall parts from the downward open portion of the upper rail. By means of resilience from elastic deformation due to widthwise pressing, the lock part is caused to enter the through-hole part of the upper rail. |
