The present invention relates to branched polyarylene ethers (A) comprising branching sites of the formula (I): The present invention further relates to a process for preparing the branched polyarylene ethers (A) and to thermoplastic molding materials comprising the branched polyarylene ethers (A) and further thermoplastic polymers (B).
