A REAGENT KIT WITH IN-TRANSIT SECURING MEANS

A reagent kit is provided which includes a reagent container assembly with at least one reagent container having at least one closure. The closure has a lid capable of pivotal movement at least between a closed lid position and another lid position. The kit also includes an in-transit securing means which, when mounted on the reagent container assembly, is movable from a locking position into a release position. In the locking position, the in-transit securing means secures the lid in the closed lid position. The in-transit securing means is also movable by sliding displacement from the locking position into a release position, and includes at least one ramp-shaped engagement element which co-operates with at least one mating element on the lid to enable the lid to pivot from the closed lid position into the other lid position when sliding the in-transit securing means into the release position.
