PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve work efficiency before and after transplanting pot seedlings.SOLUTION: A seedling raising method of the present invention has: a seeding process of seeding in each of a plurality of two-dimensionally arrayed seedling chambers 11 in which a hole 111 is provided for each bottom part and filling soil by using a seedling box 1 having the seedling chambers 11; and a seedling raising process of raising pot seedlings in the state where the seedling box 1 is mounted on a seedling box installation part 2 having a flat top surface. Roots of seedlings raised in the seedling box 1 cannot grow downward from a top surface of the seedling box installation part 2. Thus, in the seedling raising process, roots extended from the inside of the seedling chamber 11 to a rear surface of the seedling box 1 via the hole 111 are entangled with roots of adjacent seedling chambers 11 to form a mat root part 10 covering the rear surface of the seedling box 1 in a mat state. As a result, a root-cutting work for removing root part extended to the rear surface of the seedling box 1 before transplanting pot seedlings is not required. Thus, work efficiency before and after transplanting the pot seedlings can be improved. |
