The present invention relates to a method for controlling an apparatus for treating food waste, comprising: a first connection step of connecting a connection hole to an inlet by rotating a storage body; an opening step of opening the connection hole by rotating a stirring part; a grinding step of grinding food waste by the grinding part, and supplying the food waste to the inlet; a closing step of closing the connection hole by rotating the stirring part; and a dehydrating part of dehydrating the food waste inside the storage body by rotating the stirring part and the storage body in a preset first RPM to maintain the connection hole to be closed.
