The present invention relates to a powertrain for a hybrid vehicle, which improves the driving performance of a vehicle by making a transmission formed by the operation of a motor in multi-stages and reduces the production costs and weight of the motor. To achieve this, the present invention comprises: a planetary gear system which includes a first rotation element connected to a first motor to be operated as a selective input element or a selective fixed element, a second rotation element operated as the selective input element by receiving engine power, and a third rotation element connected to an output shaft to be operated as a selective output element; a second motor which provides power to an electric input shaft; and a transmission gear device which has multiple gear pairs gearing with each other and having different shift ratios in the electric input shaft and the output shaft and a control device between the gear pairs in the electric input shaft, and selects the gear pair corresponding to the driving speed of the vehicle through the control device. |
