<p>The method involves providing a web of soft, open-cell foam (4), and impregnating the foam to delay recovery of the foam after compression and subsequent release. A loans web is rolled up onto a wide roll, and the wide roll is cut into narrow sealing strip rolls, and each sealing strip roll is unwounded. A thin, closed layer (8) of a flexible or film-like material is applied and bonded to a side surface of the foam. The foam provided with the thin closed layer is rolled up into a sealing strip roll (2) in which the foam is present in a partially compressed state. An independent claim is also included for a sealing strip roll with a partially compressed, open- cell, sod foam which undergoes delayed recovery after compression and subsequent release.</p> |
