FIELD: measurement equipment.SUBSTANCE: method is carried out in the following manner. A transparent chemically non-aggressive liquid is selected, where the density is more than the density of the investigated solid phase of the dispersed system. This liquid is basic. The basic liquid may be any solution that meets the above requirements. The second transparent liquid is selected, the density of which is lower than in the solid phase of the disperse system, and which is mixed with the basic liquid without limits to create a solution. The solid phase of the dispersed system is added to the basic liquid, and it floats, since its density is lower than the density of the basic liquid. Then in a dosed manner (with drops) the second liquid is added to the basic liquid with the lower density, until the particles of the solid phase observed visually will not become a suspended matter. In this condition the true density of the solid phase of the dispersed system is equal to the density of the solution, which is continuously measured by an areometer. A more accurate device may be used to measure the density - a pycnometer, but then additional procedures for the solution volume and mass detection are necessary.EFFECT: reduced labour expenses and expanded area of application, simplification in the detection of the solid phase particle density. |
