The present invention relates to a method for preparing an olivine-based positive electrode active material. The method for preparing an olivine-based positive electrode active material comprises the stpes of: preparing a lithium compound; dissolving the lithium compound in phosphoric acid; obtaining amorphous lithium metaphosphate (LiPO_3) from the lithium compound dissolved in the phosphoric acid through a spray pyrolysis method; obtaining crystalline lithium metaphosphate by heating the amorphous lithium metaphosphate; and being plasticized by mixing the obtained crystalline lithium metaphosphate and an iron raw material.
