The present invention prevents changes in a sheet-holding position relative to an adsorption-holding member when the adsorption-holding member moves. A joining unit (8) has: an adsorption-holding member (33) having an adsorption surface (33d) capable of adsorbing the end section of a sheet (W) on a standby-side roller (R2) thereto; a movement mechanism capable of moving the adsorption surface (33d) along a pre-set path so as to impart tension to the sheet (W), and toward an intermediate section of a sheet (W) on a delivery-side original-material roller (R1); and a restriction mechanism capable of switching between a restricting state for restricting the movement of the end section of the sheet under tension relative to the adsorption-holding member (33), and a permitting state for permitting the movement of the end section of the sheet (W) relative to the adsorption-holding member (33). A controller (70) switches the restriction mechanism to the restricting state during the period in which the adsorption surface (33d) moves toward the intermediate section of the sheet (W) on the delivery-side original-material roller (R1).
