The present invention relates to: a method for producing a compound (II), which is characterized by reacting a compound (I) with a halogenating agent in the presence of a nitrogen atom-containing aprotic polar solvent in an amount of 0.5 equivalent or more relative to the amount of the compound (I); a composition which contains the compound (II), a halogenating agent or the like, and a nitrogen atom-containing aprotic polar solvent in an amount of 0.5 equivalent or more relative to the amount of the compound (II); a stabilization method for the compound (II); and the compound (II). The present invention provides: a method for industrially advantageously producing a compound (II) with high purity; a composition wherein a production intermediate of the compound (II) is stabilized; and a stabilization method for the compound (II).
