In the present invention, disclosed are: a composite positive electrode active material which comprises a lithium transition metal oxide and has a residual lithium content of 0.30 wt% or less, wherein the lithium transition metal oxide comprises a layered structural phase and a spinel-like structural phase; a positive electrode and a lithium battery employing the same; and a producing method of the composite positive electrode active material.
