PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a compact light receiving module that includes: a plurality of light receiving elements and a preamplifier circuit which are mounted on the bottom wall of a package; and an optical demultiplexer and a reflector which are mounted on a carrier disposed to be apart from the bottom wall by a support member, the optical demultiplexer and the reflector being aligned to be housed.SOLUTION: In the present manufacturing method, a PD array 29 and a lens array 28 are mounted with reference to a reference plane 23a of a package. A reflector 27 and an optical demultiplexer 26 are mounted on a carrier 25 with reference to a rear end side 25a of the carrier to fabricate an intermediate assembly M. An external light source having an optical axis vertical to the reference plane 23a is prepared. The angle of the intermediate assembly M is adjusted so that the front end surface 26e of the optical demultiplexer 26 is vertical to the optical axis of the external light source while the mounting surface of the carrier 25 is allowed to face the lens array 28, and then the intermediate assembly M is rotated at a predetermined angle. The intermediate assembly M is aligned to be mounted to a support member 24. |
