In this object detection device, every time information about one or more object candidates is obtained, a state transition unit determines on the basis of a prescribed state transition condition which of multiple states to which the information about the one or more object candidates belongs, thereby moving the information about the one or more object candidates between the multiple states, with these multiple states being predetermined on the basis of the relatedness of the one or more object candidates to a target object. Then, on the basis of transition information indicating the manner in which the state associated with the one or more object candidates has changed, a determination unit determines whether the one or more object candidates are the target object. |
