A power transmitting device comprises, in order to extend the life of a wheel bearing without making maintenance difficult: a wheel hub (20) rotatably provided to the outer peripheral section of an axle housing (10) through wheel bearings (31, 32); a speed reducer receiving chamber (52) provided in the wheel hub (20); a final speed reducer (40) configured within the speed reducer receiving chamber (52); and a wet brake mechanism (70) received in a brake chamber (60) which is formed between the axle housing (10) and the wheel hub (20) and operating so as to brake the rotation of the wheel hub (20) relative to the axle housing (10). Floating seals (81, 82) are arranged at two positions between the axle housing (10) and the wheel hub (20) so as to form a lubrication space (80) which includes the brake chamber (60) and the wheel bearings (31, 32) and which is closed against oil flow between the lubrication space (80) and the speed reducer chambers (52). An oil circulation passage (90) provided with an oil filter (96) is connected to the lubrication space (80). |
