摘要 Provided is an optical path cross-connect device that has a path switching function for optical nodes within an optical network, and that has very small-scale hardware. With respect to any of a plurality of optical cross-connect units that constitute an optical cross-connect device (OXC), an internal connection-use output port of a prescribed optical cross-connect unit is directly connected to an internal connection-use input port of another optical cross-connect unit, or, an internal connection-use output port of a prescribed optical cross-connect unit is directly connected to an internal connection-use input port of another optical cross-connect unit and is indirectly connected to an internal connection-use input port of yet another optical cross-connect unit via the other optical cross-connect unit. Due to the foregoing, repeat routing can be carried out by circuiting among the plurality of optical cross-connect units, and the scale of hardware such as the optical cross-connect units or the wavelength selection switches (WSS) thereof can be greatly reduced.
