A display apparatus comprises a display panel and a gate driving circuit. The display panel includes a base substrate and a switching transistor. The base substrate includes a display area for displaying an image and a peripheral area surrounding the display area. In addition, the switching transistor includes a first gate electrode disposed on the display area, a first channel disposed on the first gate electrode, and a first source electrode and a first drain electrode spaced apart from each other on the first channel. The gate driving circuit includes a driving transistor. The driving transistor is integrated in the peripheral area of the display panel to apply a gate output signal to the display panel, and includes a second gate electrode disposed on the peripheral area, a second channel disposed on the second gate electrode, and a second source electrode and a second drain electrode spaced apart from each other on the second channel. The second channel includes a first active layer and a second active layer disposed on the first active layer so that the thickness of the second channel is greater than the thickness of the first channel. Thus, reliability and lifetime of the display apparatus can be improved.
