PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device with which it is possible to suppress a reduced concentration due to insufficient exposure from occurring due to that a developer falls through the exposure opening of an exposure device due to mechanical shock by, for example, the attachment or removal of a moving member.SOLUTION: The image formation device has: a moving member which, while holding an image carrier unit and a development unit, moves between an internal position located inside the device body and an external position located on the outside of the device body; exposure means for forming an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier via an exposure opening provided in the moving member as a position that is lower in the vertical direction than the image carrier at the internal position; a shield member provided in the moving member and capable of shielding the exposure opening; and a holding mechanism which, when the moving member moves between the internal position and the external position, holds the shield member at a shield position corresponding to the exposure opening, and which, during image formation at the internal position, holds the shield member at a non-shield position off the exposure opening. |
