Provided is a means for preventing a decrease in the power generation capacity of a solar cell without changing a member itself of a solar cell. A coating liquid for suppressing deterioration of a solar cell, which is composed of an aqueous solution of a water-soluble compound of at least one metal that is selected from among silicon, aluminum, zirconium, tin and zinc, or which is composed of a dispersion liquid of fine particles of an oxide of the metal, and wherein the solid content concentration is 0.01-10% by mass in terms of metal oxides, or wherein fine particles having an average primary particle diameter of 50 nm or less are dispersed in the dispersion liquid with a dispersed particle diameter (D50) being less than 100 nm; a thin film for suppressing deterioration of a solar cell, which is formed from the coating liquid and has a thickness of 10-700 nm; a method for suppressing deterioration of a solar cell, wherein the coating liquid is applied over the surface of a cover glass of a solar cell, and dried and cured at a temperature from normal temperature to 200°C, thereby forming a thin film having a thickness of 10-700 nm; and a solar cell in which a thin film of the coating liquid is formed on the surface of a cover glass of the solar cell, and which is suppressed in deterioration. |
