1. A process for preparing a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of pemetrexed diacid, comprising preparing a crystalline form of pemetrexed diacid characterized by data selected from the group consisting of
an X-ray powder diffraction pattern having peaks at 5.7, 12.2, 17.2, and 18.4 degrees two-theta±0.2 degrees two-theta; and an X-ray powder diffraction pattern as depicted in FIG. 2;and converting it to a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of pemetrexed diacid.
