PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which can provide a porous membrane capable of suppressing deterioration of performance even when subjected to compressive force and the like in later processes.SOLUTION: A composition according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: polytetrafluoroethylene which can be drawn into fiber; a non-heat-melt-processing component which cannot be drawn into fiber; and a component which can be heat-melt-processed at a melting point of less than 320°C and is unable to be drawn into fiber. The component which can be heat-melt-processed and which cannot be drawn into fiber is contained in an amount of from 0.1 to less than 20 wt.% relative to the total amount.
