The purpose of the present invention is to provide an elevator shock absorber installation device with which, after the installation position of a shock absorber is adjusted and fixed, the dimensions of a legally mandated clearance between the lowermost surface of a vertically moving body and the shock absorber can be adjusted with ease, and fine-tuning thereof is also easy. This elevator shock absorber installation device has a height adjustment mechanism with which the height position of a receiving section of a shock absorber is adjusted, wherein the height adjustment mechanism is provided with: a piston section that has the shock absorber arranged on one side and allows on the other side for displacement of the height position within a predetermined range; a sleeve section into which the other side of the piston section is inserted and which supports the heightwise displacement of the piston section; a particulate solid that is provided to inside the sleeve section and resists against a predetermined compressive load displacing the height position of the piston section in a manner dependent on the amount packed; a first outlet port which is provided to a side surface of the sleeve section and from which the particulate solid packed into the sleeve section can be arbitrarily removed; and a first cover section for preventing outflow of the particulate solid from the first outlet port. |
