The invention relates to a method for transporting large amounts of electronic data, which method comprises the steps of: converting the electronic data in at least a first and a second data part at a first location; storing at least the first data part on a first physical storage medium at said first location; transporting the first physical storage medium to a second location; separately receiving the second data part at the second location; and reconstructing the electronic data out of the at least first and second data parts.
