<p>Abstract A mesh adapted to be at least partially submersed in a body of water for defining a barrier to impede access of marine life into a specific area within the body of water the mesh comprising at least two modules and at least one first pivot joint, wherein the at least two modules are joined together by the first pivot joint to allow pivotal movement of the modules with respect to each other to permit the mesh to account for water movement of the body of water. In an arrangement, the mesh comprises a plurality of rows, each row comprising a plurality of modules attached to each other, wherein each module of each row is pivotally attached to another module of another row adjacent to the each row through pivot joints to allow pivotal movement of adjacent rows and/or adjacent pair of rows with respect to each other for permitting selective displacement of the mesh between a contracted and extended condition.
