1,066,336. Adjusting vehicle height. F. S. ALLINQUANT. Nov. 26, 1963 [Dec. 5, 1962], No. 46692/63. Heading B7D. [Also in Division F1] Insan oleopneumatic suspension system, e.g. for vehicles, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), each wheel has associated with it, a cylinder fast with the vehicle body and a piston (3) the rod (4) of which is articulated to an arm (5) carrying the wheel. A flexible diaphragm (6) separates liquid contained in the cylinder from a mass of compressed gas which is connected by pipes (10) to a chamber (9) which forms a reservoir of gas under pressure (see Division F1) and which contains transfer means causing the said gas to pass from the chamber (9) to the cylinder and vice versa. The suspension is completed by an electrically controlled level correcting system which operates with an intermittent power supply derived from an electric source (26) via switch (28) connected to accelerator pedal (29). The level correcting system also includes threeposition height correctors (25a), (25b), (25m), (25n), the correctors for each axle being arranged in series and connected to the motor 14 and to electric valves 12.
|
