The present disclosure pertains to an image processing device and method making it possible to reproduce lens light information processing. A viewpoint-specific PSF arithmetic unit converts individual disparity maps into z-depth maps. The viewpoint-specific PSF arithmetic unit then obtains viewpoint images, z-depth maps, and a viewpoint position from a focal position, and generates viewpoint-specific PSF data on the basis of these data. The PSF data is a point spread function, and it is possible to determine the viewpoint-specific offset degree and intensity coefficient using the viewpoint-specific PSF data. The viewpoint-specific PSF arithmetic unit supplies the determined viewpoint-specific PSF data (i.e., offset degree and intensity coefficient) to a condensing unit. The present disclosure can be applied, e.g., to an image-capturing device for capturing multi-viewpoint images using a plurality of camera arrays in a light-field image-capturing technique that makes ray tracing possible. |
