The present invention efficiently collects impurities from an impurity-containing ionic complex composition that contains impurities, the solubility of which in a solvent is low compared to the solubility of an ionic complex in the solvent, and efficiently provides a purified ionic complex. The present invention is a method for producing a purified ionic complex by separating and removing impurities from an impurity-containing ionic complex composition that contains a specific ionic complex, a main solvent that dissolves the ionic complex, and at least difluorophosphate as an impurity. The method includes a step for separating impurities from the ionic complex by adding, to the impurity-containing ionic complex composition, a low-polarity organic solvent that dissolves the ionic complex and has a solubility lower than the solubility of the main solvent, and then, during this addition, solid–liquid separating the mixture within 0.4 to 28 hours, inclusive, from the time that one-third of the mass of the total added amount of the low-polarity organic solvent has been added.
