A vehicle display device according to the present invention detects a caution target object about which a driver of an own vehicle needs to be cautioned, calculates the distance from the caution target object to the own vehicle, performs display control that is for superimposing and displaying a caution mark, which cautions the driver about the caution target object, on a windshield at a position that, as seen by the driver, is adjacent to the caution target object, sets a reference point at the position of the caution target object on the windshield, sets a display position for the caution mark at a position that is separated from the reference point by a prescribed distance, and alters the prescribed distance and modifies the display position of the caution mark in accordance with the distance from the caution target object to the own vehicle. |
