The invention is directed to a valve (2) for gas under pressure, in particular at temperatures below -100°C, comprising a body (4) with a gas inlet (6), a gas outlet (8) and a passage (10) connecting said inlet (6) with said outlet (8); a shut-off device (12) for closing the gas passage (10); a spindle (14) designed for operating the shut-off device (12); and at least one gasket (22, 24) between the spindle (14) and the body (4). The valve further comprises at least one cavity (122, 28) around the spindle (14) for accumulating particles separated from the at least one gasket (22, 24) while operating the spindle (14) and the shut-off device (12), in particular at temperatures below -100°C.
