PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for calculating a distance between an object and a vehicle.SOLUTION: A method includes: acquiring a left image and a right image by using a stereo image acquisition unit 108; detecting an object that exists in the left image and the right image; determining region of interests (RoIs) in the left image and the right image; calculating a left center of gravity and a right center of gravity of the RoIs respectively corresponding to the left image and the right image; and calculating a distance between the object and a vehicle 106 by respectively interpolating the left center of gravity and the right center of gravity, and generating and processing a left sub-pixel image and a right sub-pixel image.
