PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of manufacturing a pneumatic tire having an excellent appearance without impairing productivity, by easily molding a cylindrical carcass ply with small rigidity difference.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire includes: a first step for cutting a carcass ply material P1 to obtain a carcass ply P2; and a second step for superimposing both end portions of the carcass ply P2 to mold a cylindrical carcass ply P3. The first step includes a holding step for holding the carcass ply material P1 with a first holding means 8 and a second holding means 9; an extending step for extending the carcass ply material P1 by separating the first holding means 8 and the second holding means 9 from each other, and forming extended portions R on both sides at a cut schedule position X; and a cutting step for cutting the carcass ply material P1 at the cut schedule position X to obtain the carcass ply P2 after the extending step. |
