摘要 The subject disclosure is directed towards a pre-cognitive interactive music system that dynamically generates and adjusts accompaniment music based on a user's interactions within a videogame or other interactive system. When a user is predicted as getting close to an upcoming game- event, audio clips are dynamically selected based upon an estimated time to reach the event. The clips may be varied if the estimated time changes due to user interaction. The duration of the audio clips may also be adjusted e.g. via modulation of their music metric or changing of the clips playing rate (bpm). Selection is made not only based on duration but also based on user's current context. The use of "harmonic modulation" to change the music's key over time increases or lowers perceived suspense as the user approaches the event or moves away from it. The audio clips are stitched together and played, as a "prelap" type of music as the user approaches the event, as a "drawdown" type of music as the user completes or moves away from an event.
