The present invention relates to a solenoid valve (14) provided for regulating the pressure in a pressurised fuel injection system, the solenoid valve (14) comprising a body in which a spindle (24) is arranged, which spindle is biased by an electromagnet comprising a coil and a magnetic core (42). The core (42) is provided with a cavity (50) which is in fluid communication, via an internal channel (52), with a counterbore of the body (22) into which the spindle (24) protrudes and into which fuel flows during use. The core (42) is furthermore provided with a means (58) for restricting said fluid communication, which restriction means is suitable for damping, during use, pressure waves propagating in the fuel and suitable for preventing said waves from moving the core (50).
