COMPLIANT CONE SYSTEM

An expansion cone system 100 having a cone segment is disclosed that is capable of deflecting in response to a restriction or obstruction encountered while 5 expanding a tubular. The expansion cone system 100 includes a mandrel 205 and two or more pockets 160 disposed circumferentially around the mandrel 205. Each pocket 160 is at least partially defined by a fin member 180. The expansion cone system 100 further includes a cone segment 150 coupled to each pocket 160. Additionally, the expansion cone system 100 includes a biasing member 130 10 disposed between the mandrel 205 and the respective cone segment 150. A method of expanding a wellbore tubular using the expansion cone system is also disclosed. FIGURE 2 for publication.
