Disclosed are a method and a system for recognizing a map image using toponyms straight lines. The method for recognizing a map may comprise the steps of: recognizing text on an inputted image by means of a text recognition technology; searching, on a map, for a toponym and a location therefor corresponding to the text; acquiring a region on the map matching the inputted image by means of a straight line connecting the central point of the inputted image and the central point of the text, and the location of the toponym. |
