Provided are: a mower capable of mowing grass both on a ground surface and on a vertical surface by selecting the orientation of the cutter; an operation section unit for a mower; and a mowing method. A mower (1) is provided with: a body (10) having an engine (101), a power transmitting section (105), a pair of traveling wheels (102), an operating handle (103), and an operating section (104); a switching section (11) having a switching frame (111) having one end side pivotally mounted to the body and the other end side mounted to a cutter section, the switching section (11) also having a power transmitting section (112) passing through the inside of the switching frame and transmitting power from the body to the cutter section; the cutter section (12) having a cover body (121), a skirt section (122) which is provided to the cover body (121), a rotating shaft section (123) which is provided at substantially the center of the cover body and which connects to one end of the power transmitting section, and a cutting blade (124) which is mounted to the rotating shaft section; a gap maintaining section (13) having substantially U-shaped forks (132) which are secured to the cutter section and also having a pair of wheels (131) mounted to the front ends of the forks; and a support leg (14) having a wheel (141) at the front end thereof and secured to a side surface of the switching section. |
