The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display element which achieves both the suppression of seal breakage and liquid crystal contamination and the suppression of a defective gap due to spring back. Further, the purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display element sealing agent that can be used for manufacturing the liquid crystal display element. The present invention is a liquid crystal display element having a structure in which liquid crystal is sealed into a cell formed by sealing the peripheries of two substrates with a linear seal part containing particles, wherein with the seal width of the seal part defined as 100%, the mean particle diameter of particles contained in regions, respectively, to positions of 10% in a direction from the center line to both ends of the seal part is larger than the mean particle diameter of particles contained in regions, respectively, to positions of 10% in a direction from both the ends to the center line of the seal part. |
