A vacuum cleaner, comprising a head component (5), a dust barrel (7), and a filter component. The head component (5) is provided with an airflow inlet (55). The dust barrel (7) and the head component (5) are separate or matchingly connected. The filter component is provided under the head component (5). The filter component comprises a frame (9) and a filter (8). The filter (8) sleeves the frame (9). An airflow buffering zone (98) is provided between the frame (9) and the filter (8). The airflow buffering zone (98) has a buffering zone inlet (53) and a buffering zone outlet (99). The buffering zone inlet (53) is in communication or not in communication with a branch channel (56) in the head component (5) via a valve (52). The buffering zone outlet (99) is in communication with the airflow inlet (55). By providing an airflow buffering zone in the filter component, the time that cleaning airflow in the filter component is extended, such that the cleaning airflow achieves a certain degree of dispersion inside the filter and does not directly return to a motor, thereby achieving better cleaning results.
