1. An electrostatic capacitance input device comprising:
an input region of a substrate, in which a plurality of input position detection electrodes are provided; a plurality of wires that are electrically connected to the plurality of input position detection electrodes and extend outside the input region of the substrate; a shield electrode provided in an outer periphery of the substrate; and a controller operatively connected to the input position detection electrodes and the shield electrode, and configured to cause a position detection signal to be applied to the input position detection electrodes with a potential having the same waveform and phase as a potential that is applied to the shield electrode.
