PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor in which a thickness of ceramic layers for inner layers is significantly reduced while a decrease in insulation resistance is prevented.SOLUTION: A multilayer ceramic capacitor 10 according to the present invention includes a ceramic element assembly 12 and external electrodes 40, 42 formed on both end surfaces of the ceramic element assembly 12. The ceramic element assembly 12 comprises: an inner layer portion 26 including a plurality of ceramic layers 20 for inner layers and first and second internal electrodes 22, 24 each disposed at an interface between the ceramic layers 20 for inner layers; and outer layer portions 28, 30 disposed on an upper surface and a lower surface of the inner layer portion 26. The ceramic layers 20 for inner layers include, as a main component, a perovskite-type compound containing Ba and Ti. The content of Mg is 0-0.4 pt.mol per 100 pts.mol of Ti. The thickness of the ceramic layers 20 for inner layers is 0.55 μm or less. |
