摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of realizing the final confirmation of abnormality in a negative pressure sensor as early as possible while accurately determining whether abnormality occurs to the negative pressure sensor for every determination.SOLUTION: A control device of a vehicle whose brake operation is assisted by using a negative pressure of a negative pressure chamber generated in response to the revolution of an internal combustion engine, and whose internal combustion engine is automatically stopped if a first condition is satisfied and is automatically started if a second condition is then satisfied, determines whether no brake operation is performed; detects the revolving speed of the internal combustion engine; and detects the negative pressure of the negative pressure chamber using a negative pressure sensor. After it is determined that no brake operation is performed and a state in which the revolving speed of the internal combustion engine is equal to or higher than a threshold continues for predetermined time or longer, the control device preliminarily determines whether abnormality occurs to the negative pressure sensor on the basis of the negative pressure of the negative pressure chamber. If preliminarily determining that the negative pressure sensor is in an abnormal state a predetermined number of times, the control device finally confirms the abnormal state and prohibits the automatic stopping of the internal combustion engine. Furthermore, the control device changes the predetermined time used for the preliminary determination depending on whether the abnormal state continues after the preliminary determination that the negative pressure sensor is in the abnormal state.
