PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which has excellent battery characteristics, while having an SEI coating that has a special structure.SOLUTION: An electrolyte used as an electrolyte of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery contains an organic solvent having a hetero element and a salt in which an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or aluminum serves as cations and a chemical structure of anions includes a sulfur element and an oxygen atom, and satisfies Is>Io, where Io represents the original peak intensity of the organic solvent and Is represents the intensity of a shifted peak of the organic solvent with respect to the peak intensity ascribed to the organic solvent in a vibrational spectrum of the electrolyte. In the electrolyte, a coating containing S and O and having an S=O structure is formed on the surface of a negative electrode. |
