The present invention relates to a manhole with a bolt secured by a buffer to a frame. According to the invention, the manhole (1) is characterised in that the buffer (3) comprises a through-hole (30) in which a pivoting pin (34) can be mounted, with pivoting controlled by a key and supporting under the buffer a latch (35) which can occupy, when the key is turned, a position for blocking the arm (14) of the bolt (12) in the position thereof for locking the buffer (3) to the frame (2) or a position for unlocking the locking arm (14) allowing the operation of the other arm (16) of the bolt (12) in order to move the locking arm (14) into the position thereof for unlocking the buffer (3) from the frame (2). The invention is useful in road equipment.
