The present invention relates to a method for displaying a virtual keyboard, and an electronic device thereof. A method of an electronic device for controlling display of a virtual keyboard comprises the following steps: sensing a touch on a virtual keyboard; determining whether the sensed touch moves to other region from a first region in the virtual keyboard; and changing and displaying the virtual keyboard according to a direction in which the touch is moved, when the touch is moved to the other region from the first region.
