The present invention relates to a mobile terminal which enables a user input of a new form. The mobile terminal comprises: a rear side input portion including a plurality of buttons, and exposed to a rear side of the mobile terminal; a memory which stores a relation between a combination about the buttons and a control command of the mobile terminal, and bio-information; a sensor portion arranged to be adjacent to the rear side input portion on the rear side of the mobile terminal, and sensing a bio-signal of a user; and a control portion which controls the sensor portion to detect the bio-signal of the user when receiving the user input in accordance with a certain combination about the buttons, and verifies the user by using the detected bio-signal and the stored bio-information.
